Should I read the Comments? Having a Voice on the Internet

Just as much as I am for empathy, sympathy and respect, I am also for people asking questions, expanding perspectives and coming up with solutions.

When we silence people because we are uncomfortable, we are asking them to be confined to our own limitations.

We are not all the same – our thoughts, actions & behaviours are defined by our own personal experiences.

When we derail conversations and shame others for pursuing their passions, we are preventing change, growth & expansion.

Some of us are destined to create an impact right now and some are creating legacies. Impact can be defined as holding a hand in crisis or finding the cure for cancer. Both are just as important and relevant.

The Internet has created global conversations & bridges but it can also seriously hurt people and squash important & diverse voices which may mean we miss the answer all together.

You don’t have to be a part of every conversation.

You don’t have to answer every question.

You are allowed to contribute what you can, when you can.

But always, love.
